IT Services
Information Technology provides the following services:
Client Services
The Client Services Section provides day-to-day support of computers, telephones and the
associated infrastructure.
Courier Services
The Courier provides mail pickup and delivery services for all City operations.
Database Services
The Database Services Section manages the technology, software and data which are key to our critical
information based systems. From financial systems to geographic information to fire dispatch and website delivery,
we rely on high performance databases and enterprise class systems to provide and store the vast amounts of
structured data needed to run our City.
Document Services
Document Services provides word processing and document preparation services to
the organization. The Section produces the Council Agenda and minutes and provides
pre-publication assistance throughout City operations.
Finance and IT - Office Services
Office Services provides executive support to the Finance Director, as well as administrative support to the IT Managers. The Office
Services Supervisor is also responsible for the supervision of the operations in the delivery of business support services such as document
creation, updating, publishing, document reproduction and document distribution as provided by Document Services, Print Shop and Courier.
On Call Clerical coverage is also provided supporting 18 clerical positions as needed.
Geographic Information Services Section
The GIS Section's primary role is the capture, storage, and analysis of spatial
data. They also assist end user department staff with the implementation of
Geographic Information Systems in their area of the organization.
Print Shop
The Print Shop provides high volume duplication, binding and collation using
various booklet and pamphlet folding options for City documents. The Citys
distributed scanning and duplication equipment and services are managed from
this section.
Project and Support Services
The Project and Support Services Section is responsible for project requests,
and coordinating business document support services.
Records Management
The Records Management section administers a City-wide program promoting the responsible
capture, use, storage, and disposal or preservation of the Citys information assets in
accordance with corporate policy, freedom of information, and privacy protection legislation.
