Permanent Exhibits
Three floors of permanent and changing exhibits which cover the exciting and
varied history of this Wild West town and the landscape which shaped the People.
See exhibits about the local Secwepemc nation, the early fur traders, the gold rush
and the gold seekers, cattle ranching, paddlewheelers and railway construction, the
coming of permanent settlers, and the making of a frontier Town.
Tours
Informal or formal guided Museum tours are offered on request, although larger
groups are encouraged to call ahead so we know you're coming. Programs for children,
kindergarten to grade 7, are available year round, while programs for high school
visitors are designed specifically for each group. A selfguided walking tour, bicycle
tours, and cemeteries tours are available year round.
Location
The Kamloops Museum and Archives is located in downtown Kamloops at the corner of
2nd Avenue and Seymour Street in the bright gold building.
Open Year Round
Tuesday - Saturday 9:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.
Open late on Thursdays until 7:30 p.m.
Closed on Statutory Holidays
Admission is by recommended donation
$3.00 - adults, $1.00 - 18 and under.
