Selling Infested Trees
Typically, Ponderosa Pine is a low value commercial tree. Landowners wishing to sell their timber should
contact a log buyer or forestry professional for further advice. Any wood sold from private land will require
a timbermark which can be applied for at the Ministry of Forests.

The requirement for a City of Kamloops Tree Cutting Permit has been waived for pine beetle attacked tree removals off of private lands. Landowners wishing to have trees felled and removed should look for an experienced and insured tree service company.
To assist with disposing of beetle-infested wood from private lands, the City is pursuing funding from senior government. Regardless of whether funding is forthcoming, the City will not be felling or moving trees on private lands. If the City receives additional funding, it intends to develop a program of picking up felled trees at curbside for disposal.
